I'm in need of a suggestions that, there is a document library where the threshold limit has changed from 5000 to 100000. I know the best practice is to keep 5000. But an SP admin before me changed it to 100000 and had to increase more. If i change back to 5000, users complaint that they are not able to view the files which are uploaded in this document library. Can any one suggest in fixing this.

now its increaed so everyone is using if you take it back then you will big blow as no one will open the large list/library.

Here what i recommend, dont increase what the limit you have as of now(120K), and force the customer to use the best practice to manage the large lists i.e creating index column, filters etc. here is nice article on it.
