I have created 2 lists in SharePoint Office 365 version. These lists are linked together as Parent Child using lookup column from Parent into child. Below is example scenario

List A (Parent List) contains columns like  Risk ID, Title, Project ID, Project Name, Project Manager

List B (Child List) contains columns like Risk detail, Likelihood %, Resolution %, Mitigation Strategy, Risk ID(lookup from Parent)

As said List A is Parent and List B is Child which have 1:M relation. So List B will have multiple records for single record in List A. Currently we have DefaultNewForm in SP for both list which works fine. For List B it shows Risk ID in dropdown from List A.

However user wants to insert records in List A and List B from a single form, which is not possible from default SharePoint forms. I need to know if there are any option (InfoPath, Sharepoint designer, PowerApp) where i can customize single form to accept user inputs for both the Lists and make entry in Parent List first then retrieve Parent ID of inserted record and use it to insert record in List B.  Let me know if any possible solutions for this Issue?

Do you mean you want to create a blank form and submit the form field value to Parent list and child list?

If that’s the case, I recommend you using InfoPath Designer.

Create data connections to receive data from parent list and child list via DATA tab->Data Connections.

Create a blank form, create rules via HOME->Rules->Manage Rules.

Create a Action type of rule and select "set a field’s value" with relevant data connection fields.
