Hi , 

I know that for development purposes, both vs community and sql server 2016 developer edition are free. But what if I wanted to deploy  to a public server for commercial purposes , what would be the licensing costs for both?

Alternatively , if i used Azure as the deployment platform , then would I have to pay the licensing fees additionally?

Thanks for your posting.

According Visual Studio license white page:

You could see that, under that two kinds of usage, we could use it with worry about license issues.

As I know we have to pay to use Azure, you could find more info about Azure on this page, and you could also post question on its own MSDN forum here.

As for SQL server 2016, I think the support engineer of its forum could offer you more professional answer.
