I downloaded Visual Studio Enterprise 2017. I chose all the options. The total size of the file was almost 57 GB that I stored in D drive. But after installation the file was seen only 2.5 GB. So, my question is that was Visual Studio downloaded full? If not what do I do know?

Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.

Could you please tell us where you get the 3.5 GB file size?  Visual Studio file folder under drive D: ?

Actually, even if you set the installation location to non-system drive,  the VS installer only allows you to specify where packages for that instance of VS are installed (i.e. anything that goes into the folder that you do get to choose).  It does not currently allow you to specify where other global packages are installed.

there are still many packages, such as shared components, Windows SDK, which will be installed into shared repositories on drive C: without any possibility to change their path.

Why you need the full download of VS, you could just install those workloads which you often use, ignore the workloads which you barely use, it can save you much disk space. I suggest you can check if your VS could run properly, If everything works fine, it would be greate.
