我们正在使用OOTB Sharepoint 2010批准工作流程以及批准任务的设定截止日期(1天)。

Hello,
We are using the OOTB Sharepoint 2010 approval workflow with a set due date (1 day) on the approval tasks.
The workflow runs normally as long as the due date is respected. Once overdue, we get an error message "xxx failed to run" in the workflow status page. This error does not stop the workflow process from running, however users do not receive the overdue email alert until they have actually completed the task. Once the task is completed and the user receives the email, they try to complete the task once more, which of course is not possible, thus creating confusion. For their task to be processed, we must either wait a certain (unknown) length of time or click on "Update active tasks of Approval" in the workflow status page.
We recently migrated from Sharepoint 2007 to Sharepoint 2013. The Sharepoint 2007 OOTB aproval workflows that we are still using do not have this problem, it only occurs on new workflows that we have created since the migration.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Since the error message "xxx failed to run" is very general, could you please check more related error messages from the ULS log for helping troubleshoot the issue?
