SharePoint faciltates making .asp sites. Is there any possibility to use it for .htm or .php sites as well? I am en amateur and build a website long time ago with Frontpage. I now want to modernise it using SharePoint but cannot load any page. Please, help me out.

SharePoint pages are always .aspx (not .asp).  And no you can't use it to create .htm or .php pages.  You also need to actual host the pages on a SharePoint server, while .htm and .php can be hosted on a regular web server.  Its nothing like Frontpage.
