It depends on what type of solution you had in SharePoint 2013. If it is a No Code sandbox solution, you can still use them in SharePoint Online as well. If it was a farm solution, then you can use\create a SharePoint hosted app and include the workflows with similar activities used in previous solution to utilize it.
