I have a document set and in the document set are documents that require approval.

There is a workflow that when initiated sends a task to an approver and the approver is sent an email directing them to the document set.

The approver views the documents but must return to the original email to approve the approval task. Within the email is the link to the task. They click on that and it takes them to the task list where they approve/reject.

This process is taking too much time and too many clicks.

The reason why this process was implemented was because more than one document requires approval at one time. Therefore the 2010 OOTB document approval is not sufficient.

Is it possible to have a link to the approval task in the document library (set) so that the person only needs to be directed to the library, they review the doc, they approve the doc from within the library.

If it is possible, can you advise how to do so please? I use SharePoint Designer, need good instructions and can't programme.

We can create a custom content type to extend the document set.

转到网站设置">网站内容类型"

Go to Site settings>Site Content Types

然后，添加一个字段以保存任务链接.

Then, add a field to save the link of task.

Finally, we can use this extended content type instead of the original document set.
