We are in the process of building Apps in SharePoint Online(SPFX, hosted apps..etc), where we want to do CRUD operations on SQL databases using Stored Procedures.

We are looking best possible options to do the same. One of option we initially looked is to build SharePoint 2016 hybrid so that we can leverage BCS services. But not sure if this will be the right approach. So please provide your suggestions here.
