I am trying to filter documents in list view using query string parameter InPlaceSearchQuery with following combinations:

http://<siteURL>/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?Inplacesearchquery="SearchText1"

http://<siteURL>/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx?Inplacesearchquery=Title: SearchText1 AND Description: SearchText1

I observed that it worked fine for SharePoint lists/libraries on my SP2016 sites with no group by settings. But it did not worked on views where items were grouped.

Also, in group by section, group by titles show filtered counts but when you expand titles all documents were shown. Please let me know if this is known behavior.

Also, Does query string parameter filtering work for group by views(FilterField and FilterValue)?

Per my test, I can reproduce your issue when I group the list items and query with InPlaceSearchQuery. It’s the known behavior.

And the FilterField and FilterValue function work fine when group the list items.
