My client has recently migrated to Office 2016. Whenever any user is trying to edit office 2016 documents from SharePoint 2013, a pop up comes every time "Getting list of available content types and properties" and hangs documents.

Whether the issue occurred in all documents? How about other document libraries? Create a new document check if the issue exists.

Is there any custom content type which associate the documents? If so, re-create the content type and check again.
