I'm trying out "Azure Backup for VM SQL (Preview)" via Recovery Vault and it's great! I like the flexibility it offers. However, I need to be able to download a full bak file. I can see that the system has taken 7 backups and a customer has asked for the back up from the weekend. How can I give them the DB? I can restore it to the VM, log into the VM and take a manual bak from there; inconvenient. Now from a DR perspective, what happens if the VM is toast (for some reason)? How can I restore the DB to a completely new VM if I can't get to the bak files. ATM, this is a show stopper for me.

Thanks for the feedback, Greg. My assumption is that once you have a .bak file, you will create a DB out of it and then share it with the customer. Is this true? If yes, you can directly create a new DB from the relevant recovery point with our solution. Also, in case of DR, when the VM is toast, you can restore the DB to another machine. Both of these scenarios are documented in the restore section of SQL backup in Azure VM.
