Hello,
I'm trying to create a helpdesk in Sharepoint for my organization. I have created essentially a list with different views for the helpdesk portion. And I've also created an asset inventory list.
What I would like to do is allow staff to input an asset ID into a helpdesk ticket, and have that ticket associate with the asset. So when troubleshooting, or doing reports, we can look at our assets and see what previous actions were preformed on it.
For example. I create a ticket for a paper jam and associate it with a lookup field to asset 001. Now when I go over to my asset inventory list, I'd like to see a list of all the tickets associated with asset 001... when I create a lookup column here and as
it to look at the list on Helpdesk, I only have an option for count...
In the end what I would like to have here is an asset list that gives us a lot of information... it would be great to be able to lookup the PO's, the Vendor, work history (ticket association), and all time that's been spent working on that asset. I'm thinking
if I can get one example of a cross list lookup working I might be able to move forward without any other issues. Ideally I'd like to be able to run reports off these list to see which devices are costing the most to maintain/support...
