I have tried unsuccessfully to uninstall KB948465. I tried from normal windows and from safe mode. Each time it takes a few minutes before reporting that it was not successful.

I would like to install the Windows6.0-KB948465-X86.exe (Gold version of KB948465) but it will not install until I can uninstall the release candidate.

Please advise how to (a) force the gold version to install or (b) how to uninstall the release candidate.

I'm having a similar problem - attempts to uninstall SP2 RC crashes the system.  I have to restore / recover from the SP1 DVD.
