I'm looking for a way to backup data from (for instance) a WebApp and/or a (my\MS)SQL database into a secure place outside the subscription where the webapp/db is located.

We want to make sure no data is lost in case of a accidental deletion of a subscription and/or resource group. Also this as to do with roles\responsibilities.

The built in backup blade for web apps includes the ability to create copies of your site and DB to a storage account. To learn more about this feature, please check out the below link.

Unfortunately, this feature does not allow you to select storage accounts outside of the subscription that the web app is in. You'll need to develop a script or program, maybe a webjob or function, to copy the contents of your storage account into an external storage account.
