I have a site that I am using for Media releases. I am using the Content Search webpart to load all the recent pages but not sure what options to select. Below is a picture f the Build Your Query.

What is the correct option/way to set this up, so it shows the most recently created/modified pages in this site

Hi,

I would say go in "Switch to Advance Mode". Then if content type is associated with your pages , then add the query with managed property "ContentTypeId" having your content type id. 

If Content type is not associated with your pages then I would create one base content type and assign to the pages. Also have the query on Site in which your pages are published. You can use "Path" / "URL" managed properties for filtering based on Site.
