We have configured SharePoint 2013 Farm using Configuration Wizard and set up other required Service Applications and components. but now we would like to change the name of SharePoint_AdminContent_<GUID> which contains GUID.

So the new database  name will be from SharePoint_AdminContent_<GUID> to SharePoint_AdminContent_<ClientName>.

If we rename sharePoint_AdminContent, will that create any issues in existing setup. What other checks required to be done post rename of SharePoint_AdminContent Database.  We need to ensure everything works as expected. Can anyone suggest the right approach ? Should we change or keep as is?

Hi Divyesh,

是的，您可以更改数据库名称.更改CA数据库以及将其作为内容数据库都没有什么害处.

Yes you can change the database name. There is no harm in changing the CA database as it is also as a content db.

您可以简单地使用

1. Dismount-SPContentDatabase"dbname"

1. Dismount-SPContentDatabase "dbname"

2. Change the name in SQL

3. Mount-SPContentDatabase"newdbname"； -数据库服务器"dbserver"； -WebApplication"hhtp://yourCA-url"

However before doing this i would recommend to take backup of the database for which you are doing this steps.
