I need to set up few new search refiners and I am using sharepoint online. I manage to map the refinablestring in search schema and if I manually reindex the document library, the new search refiner is showing up in my page.

but I need to do the reindexing of document library programmatically, so I write the code to increase the vti_searchversion value of the document library but the new search refiner is not showing up.

The value of the refiner is related to the search results, try to search the related results and compare the results. 

为库重新编制索引后，请确保已开始完全爬网.

After you reindex the library , make sure you have started a full crawl.
