Hi,

I used to have a SharePoint farm solution deployed but removed it. No traces of it in the health analyzer etc.

However, whenever I patch the farm, when I go to any site in the farm, I get a yellow screen of death and in the event logs a "file not found" error. The offending file is a dll (Metalogix.Fluent). Redeploying the solution fixes this (and I can remove the solution and the farm still works)

I will ask the vendor about this but from a SharePoint perspective, is there anything I can do to fix this? It seems like loading a page makes a call to the solution, which depends on this dll.

Is there some error after you remove the solution? 

Try to remove the solution using the following PowerShell:

Uninstall-SPSolution -Identity <Solution name.wsp>
Remove-SPSolution -Identity <Solution name.wsp>
