Hi I tried using   ContentTypeId:0x012002*   {User.Name}  in Query text of Search results web part and go the discussions items by the logged in user. I set Created Descending, LastModifiedTime Descending under Sorting Tab but they do not work. I want to sort the results by Modified Date Decending but the Modified column is not listed.

Can you assist?

Hi,

Yes, it’s a known issue in SharePoint 2013.

Here’re two solutions to fix this issue:

1. Create a result source with your custom query and configure search result web part to use this result source.

2. Add the JSON sort in search results web part properties.

The ows_Modified crawled property is mapped to LastModifiedTime managed property, which means that the LastModifiedTime managed property contains Modified column value.
