The short answer is: you should check with your Web hosting provider. (If you self-hosted, I presume, you would know the answer.) Anyway, all decent providers offers FTP upload; if such option is not available, don''t even consider the hosting plan.

If you don''t have a provider yet, my advice is: perform a wide search and thoroughly weight every options against your requirements, don''t confine yourself with the options suggested by Amit (I don''t think his post is appropriate).
