I have seen lots of posts about this, but I have been unable to get it working.

I would like draft items to show up in search results. I realize this will not security trim and users who cannot edit draft items will be able to see the search results. and will get access denied messages when they try to click on the items.

Is there any way the User policy of read access is overriding the specific permissions granted on the site? I have tried logging in as the crawl account and I can see drafts, but I am out of other ideas. If this is the issue, I am not sure how to fix it off the bat, but curious if anybody knows if this could be the case. which policy wins Site Specific permissions or User Policy?
