Hi There,

I want to know if Move-SPUser PowerShell Command can also move permissions for the user.

For example: DOMAINA\userA has contribute access to finances list. If I move this user from DomainA\UserA to DomainB\User using Move-SPUser command, what will happen to the permissions in the Finances list ? Should I manually re-apply permissions ? ? Or does the permissions get copied across as well ?

Hi,

The Move-SPUser cmdlet migrates user access from one domain user account to another. If an entry for the new login name already exists, the entry is marked for deletion to make way for the migration.

So if you run the Move-SPUser Command, userB would have contribute access to the Finances list. For user A, he would be deleted from the site, so he couldn't access to the site.
