My Organization is using SharePoint 2007 and I am recieving the following error.

A connection to http:<sitename>, an alternate web address for this SharePoint site will be attempted.'

Try removing the "-" in "My Site - Personal Documents".  Sometimes special characters make SharePoint act weird.  I ran into a similar error once and that small change fixed it.
