I would like to create a new OCS 2007 R2 Java Based client for Blackberry devices and i was wondering if anyone could help show me where to start. I have seen all these appson all the other paltforms (Android, iOS, Symbian,..etc) which are also Java based, those apps connect directly to the CWA servers, rather than utilize a UCMA type application/service and that is what i want to achieve.

You would need to implement an OCS compliant SIP stack with all its extensions to do this.  This is a lot of work and hard to get right.  That's why the CWA approach is the one that is used the most.
