I have been creating Office seating plans for years now. I commonly have a floor plan I then import a excel spread sheet with the space ID and name of the person in that space. Since we have cubes and offices I commonly use a letter in the cube name, example 505A, 505B. This helps me stay under 100 spaces per floor.

I started using Visio 2016 and noticed when I use the data import of the excel spread sheet it does not bring in the cube names that have a letter in them. I use the Space ID as the cube or office number.

The "Space ID" field is a "String" so it should import the extra letter but it doesn't.
