The UCWA Samples zip file contains some good samples, and also some useful scripts, such as Authentication.js, AutoDiscovery.js etc. They aren't part of the samples (which are all in \samples) but are separate (in \scripts) and make the whole process of using UCWA much easier than it might otherwise be.

I've been asked what the support and licensing story on these is. Are they OK to be used in production? Are they supported by Microsoft?

The zip file comes with the standard Samples license, but it's unclear whether this only applies to the actual samples, or these helper classes also, and there's nothing to indicate either way in the file headers.

The samples are able to be used as you see fit. The License Terms call this out pretty well.

The samples are not supported.  They are a good baseline/starting point, however they are not guaranteed to be problem free or cover all possible cases.  Microsoft will not be responsible for updating/changing the samples in response to different use cases or specific problems.  However you are free to contact support for us to assist you if you do experience problems and need help understanding how you can change the sample to get some functionality working for yourself.
