I'm not sure what happened, they used to work just fine but now they don't work on any of my new or previous works that I've done in MS Expression Design, they just show up as blank even though they are still in the font list. All the other fonts work fine and the text written in an Adobe font shows up if I change it to a non-Adobe font.

That would be correct. Actually, it is any OpenType font using postscript encoding that is not working. Last week's Microsoft security update included one that fixed a security hole in the font handling in Windows.

MS is aware of the problem. BTW, this has happened in the past and MS got it fixed relatively fast. As did Apple when they broke fonts last year.
