2 FS（服务器为LB）& xyz.com指向内部DNS中的LB VIP

DMZ中的2个PX独立服务器 - （服务器是LB），xyz.com指向1< sup> st< / sup>外部DNS中的公共IP和相同的公共IP是具有LB VIP的NAT

DR站点：

1。您应该使用配置了ADFS探测的硬件负载均衡器（F5，KEMP）（不仅是服务器可用性！），如果每个ADFS节点发生故障，它应该从LB群集中排除

Hi,

We are planning to Have ADFS environment to run at DR site and I have few doubts on how Failover would be triggered and what changes we need to make manually

My Environment –

ADFS URL (xyz.com) which has entry in internal DNS and external DNS

Primary Site:

2 FS (Servers are LB) & xyz.com points to LB VIP in internal DNS

2 PX Standalone servers in DMZ – (Servers are LB) and xyz.com points to 1^st Public IP in External DNS and same Public IP is NAT with LB VIP

DR site:

2 FS (Servers are LB) & xyz.com points to LB VIP in internal DNS

2 PX Standalone servers in DMZ – (Servers are LB) and xyz.com points to 2^nd Public IP in External DNS

Questions I Have –

1.       If you see from above ADFS URL (xyz.com) point to 2 Public IP, will it switch automatically in case Primary link/site is down?
2.       Since my database is on SQL farm, how can I setup it up for HA even tin event of DR? Do I have to restore it? Or I can use SQL mirroring?
3.       Since I have ADFS integration with SNOW, any configuration changes needs to done?

Hi RV2012,

1. You should use Hardware Load Balancers (F5, KEMP) configured with ADFS probing (not only servers availability!) and in case of each ADFS node failure it should be excluded from the LB cluster

2. I suggest you use SQL 2012 (or 2014) with HA configured as Always On Availability Groups. In case of single node disaster you just add another node and synchronize your DBs. In case of total SQL disaster - yes - you need to restore your SQL, but fortunately ADFS can survive such restore (of course it depends on the ADFS configuration restored from the DB and the time that the backup was done)
