Couple Questions as relating to features in WME9 - I'm sure a comparison that annoys the Microsoft folks to no end ;)
Question on the EE 4 Preview window when broadcasting (SS)...is the preview an interpretation of the output? I'm trying to understand it in relation to WME9 where the options were Input/Output/Split/Next/Both. My best guess is Output but the quality seems better than how it's displayed when pulled on client side in the media player. If it's output and SS - I also imagine that it's at the highest bit rate profile as obviously the size of the Preview appears to match that
Is there any plans on adding Input/Output/A-B compare etc to EE 4 preview window? Also WME9 had a 50%, 100%, 200% zoom/shrink function that is help to some of us that are using this software in a mobile situation with laptops and tons of windows open. The bigger the highest SS profile - the more real estate that EE session hogs up on the screen to be manageable.
Last thing - when WME9 died - it was quite verbose with the green progress bar stopping, a "stop sign" in the left corner but more importantly - the program on the taskbar would flash. Is there any plan on introducing this feature as I'm sure I'm not the only one running a webcast and running multiple tasks and any "in your face" alert that there is a problem is all that much better.
Related to immediately above - We run one SS session in EE 4 but then launch another session of EE4 to run a CBR WM session that is a "bailout" for our customers who have issues with installing or running Silverlight. I have noticed that in all instances when there is a Internet interruption - the SS session gives a windows prompt notifying of a network connection but the other EE session running the CBR WMV broadcast continues as though everything is fine and dandy - without error. This has happened many times during testing and in the field at this point - this a known bug where only one EE session (out of multiple) will display an error?

Yes, the preview is an interpretation of the output. It is based on the highest bitstream. You are correct that it can be a space hog, but you can make it go away if you would like. Sadly a zooming feature isn't currently available. You can resize the other panels around it to make it smaller but that ends up cropping instead of scaling the preview. To make it go away, go up to the window button and uncheck preview. You can re-activate it the same way.
I don't know that there are any plans currently to add any of those features to the preview window. I would suggest voting for those features here. I would also suggest the same for the flashing error or alert that wme had.

I do know that IIS smooth streaming is a bit different than a wmv. I believe that if it dropps to many data blocks it can't recover the way a wmv stream can.
