I am not sure where to post bugs in Expresion Encoder 4 so I am am going to post them here and if someone wants to let me know they should go somewhere else I will move them.

 

• When connecting to a publishing point the Username and Password do not stay remembered even if remember password is checked.
• If you try to start encoding a live broadcast before connecting to a publishing point the encoder will lock up and you will have to end the process and restart. 
  It should promt you that you have not connected to a publishing point.
• If connected to the encoder via firewall if any of the following happens the entire PC will lock up and require a hard reboot.
  
  Firewire connect becomes unplugged
  Camera is turned off

From my own experience, I can tell you this:

• If you try to start encoding a live broadcast before connecting to the server, the encoder appears to freeze while it negotiates with the remote server for the publishing point.  This "delay" where nothing appears to be working can take anywhere from 10 seconds up to a minute.  I have observed this behavior myself, you just have to wait long enough.  If you require the ability to start encoding within a second or two of clicking the "Start" button, then you should use the "Connect" button to pre-connect to the server.  In which case, encoding starts very quickly.
• I have had firewire cables and cameras power off on me during a live broadcast, this has not caused the encoder to crash.  But, thankfully, it has only happened with cameras that were not currently "Cued" ... perhaps the bug is with a "Cued" camera disappearing unexpectedly.
