I created my custom aspx page ( this is just an html renamed to aspx) and set this as my homepage. Plain HTML, no webparts or any other sharepoint objects.

Now my question is, how will I insert a SharePoint search box in this page? This search box should search the current site collection and another site collection

Hi,

OOB search function depends on SharePoint assemblies and js libraries, if you want to create a page with no navigation/quick search etc.

Here is sample demo for your reference.

Enable publishing feature for this site collection.

Create a minimal master page by design manager.

Open SharePoint designer and connect to the site.

Create a web part page in site pages library.

Update master page of the webpart page.

Insert search related webparts to page from UI.

Configure search box.

Result(if you want to hide the ribbon you could add custom CSS to this page).
