We have a SharePoint 2010 column that had it's data type changed, accidentally :-(

It was changed from a type 'single line of text' to a 'multiple line text' field.  This may have happened via the site settings interface within SP.  Or it's possible a user was able to do this from the product we use on top of SharePoint to upload documents to SharePoint. 

Questions:

1) Is there a way in SharePoint 2010 to get a list of the site columns and who created and modified them? We need to determine who it was changed by so we can fix the security loop hole that allowed this to happen.

2) Where are the site columns stored within SQL so I can look at that data there for information for single time troubleshooting purposes only.

3) Is there a way to change the this column back to it's original data type which was a single line text field?

Hi

I remember only site admin can manage site columns.

The columns info are stored in xx_columns table in your web application content database.

As I know, the column's type can not be changed once it is created unless using API or modify DB.
