I have been trying to install VS Community 2015 for the last two attempts. Each attempt lasts at least FIVE Hours on my laptop. Everything goes fine, until the last few % when the installer complains that there is a essential missing file, and I will have the option of finding it manually through quite a large number of sub directories or skip the program. I also have problems stopping or cancelling the installation process after all the "acquiring" has been done. And I have twice used the Windows Task Manager to stop the installation or "applying stage."
I also have already pre-installed the Microsoft Web Installer, the Windows 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.6, 4.6.1 SDK, the Multi-Targeting packs, MS Build Tools 2015, MS Web Platform Installer 5.0, MS Web Deploy 3.6, MS Windows SDK for Windows (7.1), and Windows Software Development Kit - Windows 10.0.266243 but left out the Visual F# developer tools - which didn't install. There are two other diagnostic applications that have been installed - Application Verifier (x64) and Debugging Tools for Windows (x64).
I am using a Gateway NV49C17g laptop with a Intel Core i5-450M processor, running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).
I am also wondering why Microsoft can't prepare ready made DVDs containing the VS Community 2015 installer (in msi file format), and distribute it to users who are using it for learning and for experimenting with software development.
When trying to continue the Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2015 with Updates installation. The Visual Studio installer gives me three options - Modify, Repair and Uninstall. I have chosen Modify for now. And I am waiting for Microsoft's expert opinion on what I should proceed with next.

VS ISO image is as a DVD installer , so to eliminate internet variables, I suggest that you download the ISO, verify the SHA-1 to ensure the ISO is not corrupt, then install locally.
