Hi We are having problem in editing and saving an item with a person field with a value of a person name no longer existing in the Address or the name no longer existing in Active Directory since that's where our address book is getting the names of users. I know that the easiest solution is to remove the existing user in the field manually, then save it again, but our requirement is to make it automatic. In case the user click the customized save button it will automate fixing the problem. We have a customized button to save the item and we are using javascript to save it. I've done a lot of research and didn't find any clue how to check if the name defined in the Person field is still existing in Address or not. We are currently javascript Client side so we using the the Microsoft.Sharepoint.Client namespace. Thanks

It looks some issue with your custom javascript code not with Person field in the form.
If you have created the person field in the list column, then make sure you selected the "Person". To test this, try the OTB form and check the save and edit mode. If everything is work with OTB form, then its cent percent sure the problem with Javascript
code.
