Having a bit of trouble with VS2005. Just installed it yesterday and promptly opened it to get used to the interface. However, I was hit fairly quickly with the following problem, which has more or less resulted in making VS unusable until I can find a working solution, which is of course my reason for posting today...

Symptoms
Visual Studio crashes unexpectedly when I make the following actions:
- Mouse over the 'toolbox' tab on the left panel of the interface. The toolbox starts to open and the status bar reads 'Initializing Toolbox...', but before anything is displayed in the toolbox the application closes. I have tried disabling animated tools, the result is the same.
- Click Tools>Choose Toolbox Items...
- Click Tools>Options>Windows Forms Designer>Data UI Customization (I'm not at all sure this is even related, but I figured I'd include it anyway.)

Attempted Remedies
- Upgraded to Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1.
- As I mentioned above, I tried disabling animated tools, but all that did was make the entire toolbox window show before VS crashes instead of sliding only partway before crashing.
- Swapped between General Development Settings and Visual Basic Development Settings on the off chance that would have some effect.
- Since I had WindowBlinds installed and I couldn't be entirely sure whether or not it may have played a part in this problem, I both tried unloading it and just plain uninstalling it (I decided to just leave it uninstalled).

None of these attempts to fix the issue have had any effect, although I'll admit they weren't the most ingenious 'attempts' ever, due to the fact that I have absolutely no idea what could be causing this strange behavior. Even a thorough google and msdn search with relevant keywords have produced no luck for me.

If any of you could possibly lend a hand in solving this problem I would be infinitely grateful and appreciative. I only wish to advance my development capability by upgrading to this version of VS, but it seems fate is making it difficult for me.

I hate to bump this thread (it always seems strangely rude having to do so, my apologies) but I haven't had any luck solving this issue on my own, and it's utterly preventing my use of VS2005, which I really both want and need to be able to do.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.
