Something seems to have changed with the way Active Directory syncing is working from version 7.3.0.3 to 8.0.0.3

I am now experiencing email addresses being overwritten with the sync process when this was not happening before. Additionally the settings within the MFA server sync groups are not being respected as documented. For example, if I have a user that is a part of 2 different security groups, according to the documentation "The settings applied to the user during synchronization will come from the first synchronization item in the list to which the user is associated." But settings like "Send Email" and at times even "Enabled" are not being respected as documented. Also the settings are inconsistent across master and slave even though they are otherwise syncing with no issues.
