I have a problem where an already existing webapplication went corrupt. I have a farm with 4 machines. 3 machines properly show the webapplication in IIS. On one of the machines however, it does not show properly in IIS. Some files are missing and the wepapllication cannot be browsed. I tried reprovisioning the webapplication using:

Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Sharepoint.Powershell
$webApp = Get-SPWebApplication https://corruptwebapp.com
$webApp.Provision()

Yet this doesn't work as expected; normally a provision takes a while. This time however it immediately jumps to the next command line with no error nor any progress.

Any suggestions regarding this issue would be highly appreciated.

Also try to run the config wizard on the server where web application having the issues.
