Recently we discovered user profile Incremental Synchronization timer job in our client server was paused after the sync status ran until 71% and then stuck there forever, this caused some of the user information from AD server didn't sync correctly.

I restarted sharepoint timer service and then run the sync service again and it running successfully. After few days the sync job paused at 71% again. This time i checked the event log and discovered below error:

"System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserProfileException: Exception while trying to migrate user 'TTSPL\arai' to 'corp\arai'. ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The user does not exist or is not unique. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x81020054): The user does not exist or is not unique."

Our users had changed the AD domain from "corp" to "TTSPL" previously, and at that period we did reconfigured the connection credential in central admin (we recreated and reconfgured the AD connection, user profile service and etc).

Any one have clue on this?

Hi,

One of your user account which is being used to configured for the User Profile Service is deleted , its not migrated correctly to your new domain or that account password might have been expired. You need to reconfigure it again from the start.

Or you can create the new user profile service with Managed account that has been managed and governed by password expiry policy.
