Calling out all #SharePoint admins for help.

One of our SP13 environments has an issue with UPS service. This service is not running properly. It starts syncing but then gets stuck and the status gets changed to paused. Re-starting the services didn't help as well.

We are getting this error Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. But this is just one of them that I can see in the event viewer and SP logs.
