We have SharePoint 2010 application & office 2010  and windows 7 OS environment. With this environment we are able to check out/in documents successfully.

However we have recently upgraded office 2010 to office 2013. After that we are facing issues in check in the document from office 2013 document file check in functionality.

step 1 : I have opened the sp 2010 document in read-only mode , immediately document will ask the checkout option in top on document. we did checkout the document and modified the content. In this case we are able to checkin the document from office 2013 File menu --> Info Tab--> check in. Document successfully check-in and updated in SP 2010 document library with version number.

step 2 : I have opened the document from SP 2010 and it prompts dialog box to choose as "Read Only" or "CheckOut for Edit". I have selected "Check out and Edit" option. The document is checkout and we are able to modify the content. After document update I went File menu -->Info tab--> here "Check-In" option not available. Instead of "Check-In" , Convert option available.

step 2 : I have checked out the SP 2010 document from sharepoint "CheckOut" functionality. And I have opened the checked out document and updated the content and try to check in the document directly from office 2013 client. Here also I am experiencing the same problem as described in the Step 2.

Finally I am facing this issue only after upgrading/installation of office 2010 client.

I follow your steps to test in my environment, the check in feature is available.

First, try to repair your office application:

If the issue exits, Please go to FILE->Account, Check the user account, switch another user and check if the issue still exists.

Go to File->Options->Customize Ribbon->File Tab, check if there are "Check In", "Check Out" and "Discard Check Out".
