I have created a custom list and it has the below columns. Whenever a user uploads a documents, the user is prompted to enter the column information and then a workflow is triggered. The Approver is chosen by the user.

The Approval workflow in Sharepoint designer looks like below

The issue now is the column Approval changes to Approved but the document is not visible to other users. The Approval status is still in pending stage. How do i make the aproval status as approved  when the task is approved. Please help.

I think you have a misunderstand about the "Approval" column and "Approval Status" column.

"批准状态"列与内容审批功能相关。简单来说，启用内容审批后，文档在发布之前不会对其他人可见。

"Approval Status" column is related to Content Approval feature. In simple terms, when Content Approval is enabled, a document doesn't become visible to others until it’s published.

While your "Approval" column displays the state of the approval workflow.

You can create a OOB workflow to make the aproval status as approved when the task is approved. In OOB approval workflow there is an Action that would update Content Approval Status depending on the status of the document.

However, using OOB approval workflow, you need to manually assign the approvers, you are not available to select a column in the Approvers option.

As a workaround, for your situation, I suggest you disable the "Content Approval" option under List Settings > Versioning Settings > Require Content Approval for submitted items.
