Hello,

I have a SP2013 Farm with two large content databases and this farm has periodically always had issues which I've had to try and deal with since it was handed over to my responsibility.

It appears that the entire Central Administration site and all of windows is corrupted as I cannot make any changes to folders, files or load the CA site.

I have tried building a new SP2013 farm however after detaching a content database in SQL from old instance and then attaching to new instance, when I try to add the content database in CA it says that the database schema version differs to its original version.

The source (corrupted) SP2013 server is at patch level 15.0.4571.1502 (SP1 mk2) however PSConfig has never been able to upgrade it to SP1 correctly.
The new SP2013, I oringally installed from the full SP1 ISO and was able to access CA OK however this was the point where I encountered the issue with the datbase schema being wrong. So I then went and uninstalled SharePoint 2013 (pre-SP1 ISO) and then installed the SP1 update and whilst the version number now says 15.0.4571.1502, PSConfg still will not upgrade the farm to that version and even prior to installing that SP1 I was unable to complete the products and services configuration wizard.

The blog below suggest to DO NOT INSTALL SP1 which I think is this version I've been trying to install:

I am now rather stuck and I am not sure how I'm going to be able to get around this without hiring a specialist SharePoint support company to assist us with resolving this issue.

I've heard of unsupported methods of changing the DB Schema to get it to mount in a new SP2013 environment although these are not supported by Microsoft.

Please upgrade source and destination to the same version and run config wizard. Then do the db migration.
