I'm using both with no problems. First, remember that Kinect Studio does not record every Kinect data flow by default, for example, color is not recorded unless specified so if your app is using color frames in the multisource frame reader you will not have any of them. Your application should not freeze anyway, it should just never get non-null color frames.

But if you are experimenting this issue even if you are not pluging any date into the runtime it is very strange. Did you check the compatibility with Configuration Verifier? Do you have any other problem with SDK samples?
