I am running into an issue where when a Project 2013 mpp file is in use sometimes it doesn't show which user has it in use. I'll try to describe it with an example.

I have a domain admin account.
My colleague has a domein user account.
We have a file called mei.mpp that we both want to open and edit.

I open the file and start editing it just as I would do any day. Then my colleague tries to open the file and he gets a message saying: Mei.mpp is beveiligd tegen bewerken door '<username>'.
This message in in Dutch due to our version of Project 2013 being Dutch. The English message would be: Mei.mpp is locked for editing by '<username>'

This is all good. Now we try it the other way around.

I have checked the account settings in Project and the name shows up right on all machines for all users. I have also checked the username in the options window and even removed the username and initials there, restarted Project and re-entered them with no result.

It looks like no one in this group has any ideas for you on how to solve the problem, as there are dozens of us who could have responded by now. My only recommendation for you would be make sure that all of you have your copies of Microsoft Project 2013 patched at the latest level of Service Packs and Cumulative Updates. Hope this little bit helps.
