I bought a Kinect V2.0 sensor for developers. I got ASUS AIO PC which got all the requirements except the USB 3.0. When I executed the configuration verifier, it gave green signal for all except the USB. Then I realised that ASMedia USB 3.0 controller is not sufficient for kinect 2.

I have not seen any laptop that supported the necessary bandwidth through an expansion card. If you have a desktop PC this is much easier to support. If you are looking for a base machine to try, the Surface Pro 3 hardware does work without any issues that we have found and use them at our hackathons with great success.

Unfortunately manufacturers/OEM don't post which hardware chips the use. If you want a definitive answer, you can contact them directly to ask questions about the hardware or go to a retail store.
