i have developed several macro with Excel 2007 which are displaying content of XML files. With Excel 2007, i have an informative message explaining that the specified XML source does not refer to a schema but that Excel will create one based on existing data. That is great and I am then able to import all my XML data. I am using this file as a table transfering some information from XML to a spreadsheet.

When i try to open any XML file with Excel 2010, i have an error message saying "cannot load the specified XML or schema source". The reason given in "details" is DTD is prohibited. Why Excel 2010 is not able to build the schema as Excel 2007 was able to do. Do i need to install a special add-in to do so?

I tried to create a XSD file from the XML using resource from internet but without success. I have good knowledge with VBA for microsoft application, but none with XML except basics. The XML files are created by another application and i have no control on the contents. The only thing i wish to do is read information from these files and copy some of it to a workbook 2010 as i was able to do with Excel 2007.
