I have an app named Simple Walk that has been in the phone market for some time as a version 7.1 phone app.  As with all my apps that use a Bing map, I recently updated it with only one change:  I replaced the Trial Bing Map Key with a Basic Key.

I have just discovered that the new version works as it should on a Windows Phone 7.1 but not on a Windows Phone 8 (it did before the update).

Well, when I now take my Win Phone 8 for a walk with the new version of the app downloaded from the Marketplace, the timer fires every 16 seconds and supposedly takes a new position reading and plots that on the map.  The problem is that the new position is always the same as the first position for the first seven times.  So it appears that my Win phone 8 is not functioning the same as the Win Phone 7.1 -- an not functioning the same as it did under the previous version of the app.

No code changes were made other than the Bing Map key (unless Microsoft makes modifications during the submission process), and the program as downloaded from the marketplace still works correctly on my Win 7.1 phone.

Whenever I start the gps on my phone I get 2 positionchanged events fired the last position and the current position.  Couldn't you just start the gps and update the map whenever the positionchanged event fires instead of doing it on a timer.
