One organisation is planning to have two separate SharePoint 2016 Farms for their Subsidiaries. Each farm will have two sharepoint web front end servers, Application Server and DR Server and  it will be in the same network. Can we use one office online server for both these farms for viewing the word, excel in browser ? Do we require separate SSL for this ?

Yes, one office online server farm can support one or more SharePoint farms. You can only use one SSL per OOS farm and there is no need to have more, as far as I know.
