downloaded the Hotfix to correct license corruption issue. when downloaded the zip file extraction occurs. But nothing improves on opening expression 4.  Are there more steps to do? Very frustrating.

This is not Microsoft you are talking to, but simply other EW users. We can't do anything about a hotfix, or specific issues on your machine.

I will say that unzipping a file doesn't run anything, so if there is something that needs to be executed, do it.  Surely there were instructions on the page you downloaded it from?

On the other hand, if you are using the latest version of EW4, which is the last, has all fixes/improvements, is completely free and does not require any kind of license, your issue would be moot. Perhaps you should try that.
